Portmanteau of Breakfast and Lunch: Home Edition

I’ve been brunching out a lot lately: it’s a problem. So I bought all the proper ingredients to enjoy a nice brunch at home.
Who else to have over than my best friend Jay? We live right up the street from one another, so close in fact that we should probably rig up a can-string calling system to keep it green. Or just stand outside and shout.
Anyway, this morning we had coffee, then scrambled eggs with spinach, arugula, cherry tomatoes, feta and grilled onions all on top of fiber-iffic English muffins. Delish!  Topped it off with mimosas, and so began the weekend.

We sat outside after brunch to enjoy the amazing weather. We’re going to top out in the 70s today. All my doors and windows are open, it’s lovely. And it’s always fun to rally around my dogs and the neighbor’s dog Polly to watch them play. And yes, this afternoon you will find me in my moccasins.
Seasonally speaking, in a matter of week all the trees dropped their leaves. They are barren. The atmosphere has certainly changed in my neighborhood. Winter is starting to take over.

The only downside to this brunch-at-home business is the dishes. Can anyone recommend a cleaning lady who will work for free? Besides me.
Hope your weekend is also off to an awesome start!

Love Contagion

I’ve never met a girl who didn’t love receiving flowers. I am certainly no different. These were delivered to my office on Thursday by my super thoughtful boyfriend. I don’t believe I’ve ever received such a detailed, diverse arrangement.
I certainly loved the exotic accessory to my otherwise bland cubicle, but what I enjoyed more was how amorous the air became when people came over to inspect the arrangement. My boss and a co-worker immediately got online and ordered flowers for their spouses. Love and positivity are absolutely contagious.

My boyfriend was proud to hear that his sweet gesture not only brightened up my day, but spread to strangers he’d never met before.
So this weekend I get to walk past these lovely flowers in my kitchen and contemplate the ways I can project more positivity and love into the world. I’ve got a case of the love contagion.
I wish you all the very best this weekend!

Alumni Love

Okay, so it had been a few years since I had done the whole college scene of tailgating. I thought, why not revisit those days and drag a friend along in the meantime? Jordan is such a good sport. We walked up to campus corner to shop around and indulge in the festivities. As a U of Maryland graduate, Jordan was really caught up on the rivalry colors. She didn’t want to be dressed as an accidental Texas Tech fan! I pretended I knew what their colors were to quell her concerns. Still do not know. Confession time, Jordan!

I was an incoming freshman college guide, so I had all these historical pieces of information to contribute to our walk. Such as:

This fountain has indigenous rocks from every county in Oklahoma. That’s 77 counties, folks! Make a wish.

This man is wearing an Oklahoma jersey. Fact!

Jordan is pretty. Fact!

Food is delicious. Another well known fact.

Ahh, some friends and I had brunch at Blu. This salad was amazing. We all poked around each other’s plates too. Samples for everyone!

Jordan is totally guilty of planking! Now I need to try to get her to attempt Batmanning!

Cherokee Gothic architecture, so magestic!

Hey weeping willow, I’d appreciate it if you didn’t get all tangled in my hair. But let’s make it look fun anyways. This weekend was so fun. I love my friends, University and camera.

Boomer!
