The first half of this weekend was nothing short of rewarding. Since I ditched the microwave I had to learn how to make popcorn the old fashioned way. Yep, stove top. I have an infallible weakness for kettle corn, so really I had no choice but to learn how to pop my own. I have some work to do on it, but I’m on the right trail!
This weekend I coordinated a work-related volunteer event. As a Volunteer Committee Member, I really needed to have something done during the year 2011 to be proud of. Today my coworkers and I spent the day working for Habitat for Humanity. It was a great experience! Although, I’m still trying to figure out how to get all the paint off my hands. Harsh remedies need not apply.
After the event, it rained and it poured. It was nice to relax at home in the ambiance of a rain storm.
It’s still raining, but tomorrow is certainly looking bright.
wow looks like you have a an eventful weekend 🙂 Oh and that kettle corn sure looks good , wish i could try some :).
kettle corn is the best. hand's down. sounds like you had a great weekend
stovetop popcorn is soooo good!
Love the pictures! That is so cool that you volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. I would love to do something like that sometime.
Good on you for being adventurous! Learning to cook something new and volunteering!
I remember when my great grandpa used to make pop corn that way!!
I love that you went old school with the popcorn- that's how I rock it. It's so much better than microwave, right!?
I'm glad I'm not the only kettle corn addict! The old fashioned way is the best! Thanks for the lovely commentary, ladies. 🙂
Yum! I don't have a microwave either and the only thing I miss it for is popcorn! You've inspired me to make it on the stovetop!
