Dallas, TX

Hi Everyone,

For the last two years I’ve celebrated my birthday in Dallas, TX. It’s three hours from my town and the shopping rivals Los Angeles, or at least Sacramento.

I love Okla, but in some (commercial) ways–the living is primitive . Anyways, here are some old archive photos of one of my favorite cities.

Better Broccoli Salad

Happy Saturday!

Per request, I’ve posted one of my favorite recipes. I really dislike blogging about food because Todd is THE BEST cook (hey I was raised by a single dad, so don’t judge m’onions). I made this particular salad my own. Look Pops! I’m eating raw broccoli!

Here’s what you’ll need:

3 heads of organic broccoli
2/3 cup of miracle whip light
1/4 cup red wine vinaigrette
1/4 red onion, diced
4 slices of turkey bacon, cooked to a crisp, then diced
2/3 cup shredded fat free cheese (cheddar, mozarella, whatever you like)

Instructions: Turn on your ipod, play Manu Chao. Dance a little. Then chop your broccoli smaller than bite size, dice those onions and cook up your turkey bacon. Chop that bacon into bits, then combine ingredients. Add a dash of salt, pepper, sugar, and lemon juice. This dish is served best after marinating over night, but tastes delicious any which way!

I hope everyone enjoys it at Pam’s cookout tonight!
